For the May 2014 issue of Klassisk magazine I got the assignment of spending a day with Preben Iwan from Timbre Music. Preben is a world class music producer for classical music and was nominated for a Grammy in 2013. This time he was in Copenhagen to oversee the recording of Napoli, a collaboration between the Danish Royal Theatre and the Royal Danish Ballet. I had the pleasure of following him around documenting his work behind the scene.
At the end of 2013 one of my images represented by Millennium Images was bought for a book cover. The image from my series ‘Aller Retour’ was shot in France in 2007 and is being used now to illustrate the cover of the critically acclaimed French title L’Élégance du hérisson (The Elegance of the Hedgehog) by author Muriel Barbery. I am so happy to see such a personal image I shot, featuring my late beautiful grandmother in her glory days being used in this manner.
September 2013 started with another commission by Danish design agency e-Types Daily for FSR magazine - Signatur. This time I shot a sinister / comical cover featuring chartered accountant Eskild Norregaard Jacobsen and a 2nd piece with an amusing tone featuring former danish golf champion turned sports psychologist Michael Hansen
Mid 2013 Millennium Images, UK based agency representing a selection of my fine art work sold one more of my images for a book cover. Titled “A question of Identity” by author Susan Hill is a thriller published by Penguin and will come out later in the year. The picture was taken randomly on a very cold snowy night in London just outside my home in Olympia…
2013 brought an exciting assignment. I was approached by Visit Carlsberg in order to create a series of large scale posters, illustrating the evolution of the brand’s bottles from its very beginning in the 19th century all the way to present day and a restoration project of old archival images. 8 very old, sealed beer bottles were carefully delivered to my studio from the brewery’s bottle archive at the historical centre in Vesterbro, Copenhagen. The result represent over 150 years of beer making. The posters will be on permanent display at the Carlsberg’s visitor centre bar, where thousands of thirsty visitors finish their tour of the old brewery every year.
